Our One-on-One SSAT/ISEE Preparation program offers the following resources:

  • 20 hours of one-on-one tutoring with a tutor specialized in the SSAT or ISEE, typically at the student’s home or at our locations in Silicon Valley or New York
  • Two complete diagnostic tests and analysis of results to maximize improvement
  • Complete study materials including flashcards, study guides, strategy exercises, and practice questions written by Ivy Global tutors

The atmosphere is best described as friendly, intense, and engaging. We generally begin by taking up the homework and reviewing the vocabulary assigned in the previous session. Then, the majority of the sessions are spent learning and practicing new material. Early sessions in the package tend to be devoted to reviewing and developing the basic skills tested on the exam: arithmetic, basic algebra, geometry, word problems, vocabulary, logic, essay writing, and strategic reading comprehension. Later sessions hone these skills, focus on areas of continuing difficulty, and offer additional techniques and strategies for maximizing the student’s score. Later sessions also tend to incorporate longer sections of the practice exams as homework to develop time management skills and ensure that the student is very familiar with the format of the test.

Students can arrange to drop in and observe one session of a course currently running in their location, as long as this is authorized by our office. Please call to schedule.
